Workshops @ KAMK Finland

KAMK university invited me to give a lecture and workshop during their international week.

I gave an extensive lecture on 3D characters, glossing over a wide range of topics such as design, topology, realtime vs rendered, realism vs stylized, rigging, simulation, and so on.

The workshop was less in depth, but took more time. Students could make a stylized self portrait in Zbrush, while having no previous knowledge of Zbrush what so ever. Starting from a basemesh (by Leslie Van den Broeck), we talked about some anatomy rules to keep in mind, expressions, how to sculpt stylized hair, and how to polypaint the hole sculpt. You can view the result at the Self Portrait page or in the first image below.
